ClickBank first offered its instant notification platform at the beginning of 2008. However, the affiliate network did not make it easy for their non technical affiliates to utilize the service, and the announcement of the instant notification protocol went mostly unnoticed.

There are advantages to doing this, both for you, and for ClickBank. But this is no longer necessary if you are being informed, in real time, about new sales that are coming in. It is also a boon to ClickBank, because by offloading your logins to their servers - which are not exactly speedy - the login experience for other affiliates gets better.

So, the moral of the story is that you do not have to be a ClickBank merchant to get special treatment in the form of sales alerts. Affiliates are entitled to the service too.
